High in demand are our pure white lime products fort he production and processing of food. Be it as a calcium additive, flour or dough enhancer, to increase the shelf life of bread or just to stabilize the pH value. You will also find derivatives of our high-class calcium-content products in health products, such as those for mouth and dental hygiene. Our lime hydrate nekablanc® 0 is characterized by its exceptionally fine and consistent grading. Along with the KFN quicklime products nekafin® 0 and nekafin® 2, they are the basis for baking additives, baby food, tableting auxiliaries and diet foods.

With lime products from the Elggis mountain in the Swiss canton of Glarus salt is cleaned and lactose is made. They can be used in the production of beer, wine, juices and baking agents as well as gelatin. In the production of dairy products, lime is used as separating agent or to regulate the acidity of curd. Quicklime is also used in the cleaning of foods, such as sugar. An important usage of our food-certified hydrated lime is the setting of the pH value of drinking water. KFN hydrated lime is also used in the deacidification of drinking water.
